ITINERARY:

We will meet at The Art Barge first and then travel to The House.

Once at The House, the group will tour through the D’Amico Studio and Archive space with an emphasis on the life of Mabel D’Amico as a master art educator and found object construction artist. The tour will be approximately 1 hour depending on the interest of the teachers and their questions.

After the House tour, the group will travel 2 miles around Napeague Harbor to the Barge. A history of the Barge, Victor D’Amico and his role as art educator with the emphasis on “motivations” will be explained.

Approximately 1 hour.

Afterward, there will be a break for lunch. Weather permitting you can walk off lunch on the Barge beach.

Recharged and inspired individuals can separate into smaller activity groups to make art. The Painting/Drawing, Collage and 3-D studios will have Barge instructors on hand to guide you through art activities. This will take place over approximately 2 hours. The day can end with a final critique.
